EDGE PROJECT| Mental Disorders

This project seeks to determine the presence of various mental disorders (stress, depression, and anxiety) on Southern Utah’s campus. By inviting the community of college students to add color coded dots, which are associated with each of the mental disorders, onto a blank canvas, this project will be able to visually portray the existence and prevalence of these disorders on campus. Through this artistic and creative interpretation, students will be able to understand that these disorders do affect a majority of students while in college, and that they are not suffering in solitude. The hopes of this project is to encourage students to envision their mental disorder as a common condition, rather than a debilitating burden. By allowing students to realize that others are enduring the same mental struggles, the hopes are that students will seek help in confidence and not in embarrassment.
